Help Your Child Focus Through The Joy Of Art – Inclusive for All Abilities

Private Art Lessons in Queens with Me, Chadney Spencer

Hi, I’m Chadney — I help kids and adults express themselves and grow through art.

For over 25 years, I’ve been teaching art to students of all ages and learning styles — from Kentucky to Japan to right here in Queens.Since 2017, I’ve run Art Central NYC, my private studio in Bayside, where I work with children, teens, and adults — including those with autism, ADHD, and other special needs.Whether your child is a budding artist or just needs a creative outlet to focus and grow, I’m here to help them feel safe, inspired, and proud of what they create.

Why Parents Love My Studio

⚫ I keep classes small or 1-on-1 so every student gets real attention⚫ I teach a structured curriculum (not just playtime)⚫ I’m patient, experienced, and neurodivergent-friendly⚫ I’ve been doing this for 25+ years and still love it⚫ Every student matters here — and they feel it.

My Story

I started drawing at 4 and never stopped. I was trained in classical fine art, art history, animation, and philosophy — and over the years, I’ve taught in public schools, private programs, and international academies. But nothing compares to the joy of teaching in my own studio. I’ve seen kids who couldn’t focus light up with calm and confidence when given a pencil and space to create.I’ve seen nonverbal children smile with pride at their artwork. That’s why I do this.Art changed my life. Now I use it to help others change theirs.

FAQ

1. What do students need to bring to class?
Just a positive attitude! I provide all materials, and we build on basics as your child progresses.
2. Can parents stay during the lesson?
Absolutely — especially during the first few sessions. My goal is to make both you and your child feel comfortable.
3. Do you work with kids who have learning or developmental challenges?
Yes. I’ve taught many students with autism, ADHD, and other needs. The lessons are patient, structured, and adaptive.
4. Do you offer help with high school art prep?
Yes, I help students build portfolios for school applications or personal growth. We can tailor lessons to fit their goals.
5. What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows will be charged the full session rate, since that time is set aside just for your child.
